ERGONOMIC LOAD DISTRIBUTION HARNESS

Industrial workers are commonly operating and monitering machinery with portable controllers, computers and displays. In the Aluminium Industry, Machinery Health Analysers are portable units that monitor data like Vibrations, Shaft Alignment and Motors. Operators carry these heavy units throughout the plant to verify the status of different machines. Some models weight about 5 lbs, and they are typically carried with a single strap around the neck. These incorrectly balanced and undistributed loads caused severe injuries and short-term disabilities to some workers.

Enhanced Load Distribution

In regard to this issue, Mawashi was mandated to develop a Load-Carriage System that would distribute the load properly on the Upper Body. This system comprises an Ergonomically-Shaped Harness that distributes the load on the Skeletal System, and a Lightweight Docking Station to stabilize the load against the body.

Reduced Pressure Points & Fatigue

The Load-Carriage Harness is body-moulded to reduce pressure points over the shoulders and integrates two Load-Transfer Rods on the Hips to take off the load from the Stomach. The harness is fully adjustable to fit different body shapes and sizes. The Portable Monitor/Controller rests on the Tray of the Docking Station, whose angle is adjustable to let the operator set the viewing angle. The whole Docking Station is attached to the harness with Quick-Release Buckles for easy donning/doffing.
